International Students

Top Reasons to study in Canada

Canada prides itself on multiculturalism and diversity. With ethnic foods readily available and cultural activities held often, Canada makes newcomers feel at home. Your international student advisor can help you get in touch with ethnic clubs and associations for you to join. Even with Canada’s high standards, the cost of living and tuition for international students is less than that in the USA and the UK.

Canada – A country that embraces culture and diversity! Ontario – A province that promises beautiful scenery and four very different seasons all year round. Hamilton – A city filled with excitement, attractions and plenty of cultural hotspots that everyone can enjoy!

Please be aware that international students who graduate from diploma programs at Private Career Colleges (including Academy of Learning College) are not currently eligible to receive a Post-Graduate Work Permit. While we are hoping that this policy may change in the future, if you are seeking a Post Graduate Work Permit, we recommend you research and consider a publicly funded college.

We have many international students that study with us for various other reasons outside of receiving a PGWP. If you are looking for the following, we may be the right fit for you:

  • The United Nations Ranked Canada as one of the Best Places to Live
  • Work While Studying
  • Internationally Recognized Education
  • Learn or Improve another Language
  • Growing Multicultural Communities
  • Affordable Education and Living
    • Seeking a superior educational experience that allows you to return to your country of origin with Canadian education and work experience (through practicum component in our programs, and, through work experience with the during-study off-campus work permits) ;
    • Are in need of a community of support, compassionate faculty and staff committed to accommodating your needs, providing hands-on, practical experience, so that you can achieve success; and,
    • Due to the high cost of studying abroad, are looking to work during your schooling experience. Academy of Learning College has a set schedule that easily allows you to negotiate an opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week with the during-study off-campus work permit
Canada’s high academic standards mean earning a quality education that will open doors for your future and benefit your career long term. A Canadian diploma is globally recognized as being equivalent to those obtained from the United States of America or the Commonwealth countries.
